Stern Graveur

Of all the grown-up luxuries Paris has to offer, there may be nothing more indulgent in the digital age than personalized stationery or calling cards from one of the city's venerable houses of fine paper goods. The art of the beautifully engraved carte de visite is alive and well at a handful of select addresses where traditional craftsmanship and French savoir-faire produce timeless paper goods that make a real statement in the modern world, as Gridskipper can tell us so nicely.

One of these shops is Stern Graveur in the very charming Passage des Panoramas in the second Arr. This is a centuries-old engraver to, among others, Jean Cocteau and several kings of Morocco. You write your name on a blank paper and they tell you how your stationary will be.

To go there it takes a nice walk through the other Passages near the apartment Studioloft Montmartre. Going down to Cadet, Rue Cadet, turn left and at the right handside you come across Passage Verdeau. Move on and you will come in Passage des Panoramas.Enjoy.

Stern Graveur is temporarily ( from October) at 115, blvd Richard Lenoir 75011 - the business continu.
