Aux Trois Mailletz

Aux Trois Mailletz in the Latin quarter is a bar restaurant with a cabaret cellar. Back In the 50's it was a Jazz club where big names have been playing. My husband took me out for an evening there while we had our weekend without the kids in our furnished apartment Montmartre Studio loft.

The restaurant is not worthwhile ( the chicken had to much and was dry - dark brown ) , although our neigbours took a T-bone steak that smelled great. A lot of the clients are ex-pats which adds to the international feeling.  Meanwhile the pianobar starts and is very good jamsession.

Downstairs the show starts after 22 h, with a good pianoplayer and singer who knows the French chansons very well and encourages the audience to sing along. The songs go over French classics to South-American medly to African rhythm. The Jazz band is multi cultural and so their music. But the big lady of the evening is the African - Senegalese - lady singer. Waw, what a voice she has. Also some nice girls add to the ambiance by dancing on the rhythm. The evening is a fun night out .
